Turn on the Light

I've been feeling a bit spiritually disconnected lately.  When I get like this I feel somewhat depressed and  find it difficult to discipline myself to read and study scriptures first thing in the morning.  I'm more easily distracted and scattered.

As I was sitting on the edge of my bed early this morning stretching my foot I suddenly had this thought pop into my head-- "Turn on the light".  It was not dark out;  I immediately suspected that this was a spiritual message to me to turn on "spiritual Light" in the morning.  In other words, work on better control of my scripture time in the morning and I will be turning on the needed Light in my life.  It was motivating!

I thought of the verse in Psalm 119:105 which states "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (KJV Bible).  I then did s short study of Psalm 119 for some context and discovered that the word of God--testimonies of Him--is a major theme of this very long Psalm.  It's beautiful.

The Lord speaks to us through the scriptures.  The Holy Ghost will help us understand the scriptures and  impress upon our minds and hearts specific ways they  relate to our personal lives.  Those are messages from the Lord!
