Moon Garden

            Acouple of weeks ago I was with some family members at a Louisville restaurant to celebrate my birthday.  We arrived early for dinner so it was quiet where we were seated; this enabled me to take in the ambience, which really "spoke" to me.  I loved it...dark green, black and white flooring, soft lighting, low key slow vocal music, non-matching dinnerware, some antiques and some art deco decor.  I faced a bar which was lined with partially filled glass bottles of liquors and vases of tall white flowers.  It was beautiful (and I don't drink, let alone think bottles of liquor are beautiful).  The ambience completely took me in. I just sat there enjoying the moment and soaking in the mood.  Everything was just right.      When we finished I was given this flower to take home.  I was told to put it in about an inch of water and it would continue to bloom.  I did so.  At that time the white ...

Bridge View

          Lately the weather has been very dry where I live.  Most morning walks pass over a creek which empties into the Ohio River.  Usually it is a river--right now it's a creek so low that from the bridge above I could see deer walking across.  The picture above shows two of them saying hello, but there was a blue heron nearby, unseen by me until I enlarged the photo.  Very cool...a lovely surprise!  It's very sad to see the water so low, but this treat was made possible by it!
